Global Comix is probably the closest alternative to Comixology Unlimited and is an entirely subscription model. Also seems to be way kinder to non-romance comics.Īny comic subscription services available in the uk? Hey! I recently learned about, so I'm thinking about moving there. There's an option to join an unlimited reading program at that point. The confusing thing, though, is that it used to be clear that they had an unlimited membership program (similar to Comixology Unlimited) on their main page, which I thought was their main model for reading, but now I don't seem to see that unless I bring up a comic listing that requires payment to purchase.

There's a wider variety of stories than just cape stuff, but there are plenty of those too (including mine). The Dark is in the second wave of comiXology originals and it will be hitting in the coming months while titles such as Goliath Girls by writer Sam Humphries and artist Alti Firmansyah, Grave Danger by writer Tim Seeley and artist Mike Norton, Hit Reblog: Comics That Caught Fire by writer and artist Megan Kearney, as well as Teenage Wasteland by writer Magdalene Visaggio and artist Jen Vaughn are all available immediately to those on the services above.įrom the look of it, The Dark is definitely going to be a monthly read for me and I look forward to checking out the rest of comiXology’s wave 2 releases.Hi everyone, I’m new to comics and would like suggestions on where to read digitally if you wouldn’t mindįor sure there's the big 2 subscription services, but there's also a lot of good indie comics(for free & paid) on globalcomix. What is that? How did it evolve? How did this organic internet come to be? I WANT to know!!!

You can see there is a city there but there is also this luminescent biological presence all over. Like when you first saw the crashed alien ship on LV-426 and needed to know what was inside, that’s kind of how I felt with the panel of the city and the person on the bicycle. Not that that has anything to do with it, it’s just the feeling and remembrance that the preview panels pulled up from within. My first impression was a feeling of Alien on Earth. The Dark is written by Mark Sable with art by Kristian Donaldson, and so far, just from the preview pages, the art is beautiful with vivid colors and the perfect amount of dark shadows that really pull you into this new technological and biological world.
